Thread for people playing CoH

Postby Meridian » Fri Apr 26, 2019 6:01 pm

I felt this merited its own thread. Currently some of us are playing at Titan Network.
[Which is these guys: Titan Network in talks about a community-run server]

We may not be there forever, but for now here are the instructions we followed:

1.) Download and install the Tequila client from the Titan network:
https://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php?topic=9531.0
[Note: they also have a Mac link]

2.) Register an account on the score forums.

3.) After you register for a forum account create a game account here:

Just to add on, once the Game Account is created, start Tequila. You should see a PLAY button in the lower left. If/When the login page comes up, enter you Game Account information and have at it!

Just note there are a lot of people playing and the Game Admins are taking the server down frequently to deal with issues. There's still a lot of mapservers, rubberbanding, and stuttering, but it's all there (as far as I've gotten, anyway).

I won't lie - the CoH revival has reignited my love of PC gaming. I'm even more hyped up for SoH now :)

To be fair, the next issue contained several blaster tweaks. Since the game shut down before its release, this is the first opportunity for many people to see those changes in action.

I just downloaded it Thursday. I couldn't resist the urge to play again. I hit lvl 31 with a spine/fire scrapper last night. Currently waiting in que for another long session tonight. Number 2000 of 2300 lol and they just added a 2nd server today.

I have been talking non stop about SoH in my teams. There is a lot of interest out there for soh. But more surprisingly. A lot of players were not former coh players that wanted to see what it was like and thinks it's amazing.

But I am doing my best to talk about soh in litterally every pug I have played in to help draw attention to people who havent heard of it (there have been quite a few that didnt even know soh existed)

Activity on the servers is amazing. havent run less than 6man teams since logging in to the sewers at lvl 1, with 8 man teams for the majority of it 😁😁😁😁 and everyone is sooooo happy to be playing again.

All in all I really hope this stays because this will really help get me by until our beta starts here

If people are playing, it is possible to record both the play, and the FPS using Fraps.

I think Fraps 3.5.99 is the free version.

It would be great to get some FPS nmbers in very crowded situations, like our Login Test was. Especially since it seems like the hosts have gone through a few generations of server configurations and may have it down pat now. Has anyone seen a Mothership Raid, or a Rikti Invasion with a lot of players crowded together?

Oh, and if you try this, please use Ultra settings. Thanks.

I believe you can do the same with OBS recording software. It's free, and works for me. ;)

Playing! I did lose connection to the mapserver, but I imagine that will happen. The que is kinda odd though. I imagine given some time that will just go away. I'm on Torchbearer. Playing as First Illusion.

It looks like they are adding two more servers. If NCsoft idn't going to act soon, they will have some major fan recoil, since over 8000 people want to play, and there are probably a lot more that want to play LEGALLY.

Legally smeegally man just play the game you love. What can happen to you; if you do play... nothing, zilch, jack squat, nada.

Based on how NCsoft attacked the users of the Tabula Rasa users, it is a pretty high risk to piss them off. Yes, they attacked far more than just the server admins.

Think i'l take my chances GladDog. The financial burden for NCsoft to track down each player of the server would be astronomical. I welcome any attempt by NCsoft. furthermore I think they have turned a blind eye to the servers. That's the info I have received.

NCSoft may be thinking of ways to make money off the IP than a couple thousand players. There are people like Positive Gamer & Nova who are streaming the game, giving the IP publicity. That IP has been in their paws for this long for a reason. Now is a great time to gauge interest in the IP. That is just my take on this situation.
