So are we zeroing in on 20% as an answer? If so does this mean we want something like this:

2 players - 4%
3 players - 6%
4 players - 8%
5 players - 10%
6 players - 12%
7 players - 14%
8 players - 16%
9 players - 18%
10 players - 20%

This is definitely a "play and see how it feels" thing, but on paper that looks perfectly reasonable to me.

20% seems like a good position, maybe do events where the cap is raised? (e.g. "Happy Birthday SoH" - To Celebrate the community, Team xp & loot has been raised to 40% for 10 Days")

But too much of a bonus for grouping encourages nonsocial farming groups. I've seen this in many games that have high grouping bonuses. People just randomly group up for farming and power leveling, and don't want to talk - they actively discourage socializing because it detracts from the faster killing.
This - so I'm inclined to say "-"90% for 10 players :D

Because I was personally playing fire/kin Controller a lot of the time inviting newbies who wanted fast leveling.
Befriended some other farmers to get my 60+ toons (and some of theirs) to lvl 50 (major altaholic).

Still - it was a weird mechanic imho.
