I went with Badge hunting. there was always something I could do to get a badge. I spent months of free time getting the zookeeper badge (the hard way all 10,000) in my free time.

Badge hunting is a good one...I went with 'other'. I would get on just to socialize on a super team or global chat channel.

I had to pick “Something Else” on this one because it depends on the intensity and complexity of the game. In the game I’m currently playing, 15-30 minutes would be enough time to knock out a mission or two in lower levels, but in the mid-40’s where I currently “live” that amount of time is just enough time to check inventory, sell off unwanted items, manage my crafting supplies, and stage myself at the start of the next mission.

A similar side-note: I am enjoying the Log In Rewards benefit. Every day my character gets a pop-up screen at log in with a gift just for being there. It always includes a free key to open a special cache box full of goodies that the mob’s/bosses drop randomly, plus a predetermined reward that rotates in a set order of skill points, ability points, money (shards), weapon boosters, talisman boosters, and bags with a random weapon or talisman that you can use, sell, or “feed” it to your crafting. On the 28th log in, it’s always and Epic Level Item that’s either rare or impossible to get in game. This is how I frequently fill my 15-30 minute blocks of time between other things in going on in my day.

something else...

just many variables and unknowns to answer with others imho.

each of the others is plausible but maybe i just feel like shooting the breeze or log on support toons and help out lowbies with random buffs and heals.

I went with badge hunting. I enjoyed trying to obtain as many as I could. But really any combination of those options depending on what I'm in the mood for, what level my toon etc

What I really miss doing is flying around with no specific point per se looking for a good mob to try and take on solo (as a blaster). So I guess what most people call street sweeping. But really i just liked to explore and take down baddies if I couldn't play long, wasn't enough time to get a decent team together to finish a mission at high level/end game content, where I spent a lot of my time in CoH, and also the reason I stayed with CoH for so long.

hehe I had suggested 2 additions to this poll, and I'm saying other because for me it's almost always answering questions for new players or helping someone out if they are stuck. I had a character named "Information Booth" and I would hide inside one of the info booths and broadcast useful stuff and answer questions, a few new players thought I was actually the booth speaking because I'd use invis :) It was a blast and I intend to repeat!

I also went with something else.....which would be social and harvesting for crafting....or perhaps even craft a bit, when available.
I am gonna need to stop for coffee before we head out for the battle. 8-)

I went with 'Something else".

Depending on my mood I would do at least three of the ones mentioned.
1. Run a fast mission Didn't have to be story arc related
2. Badge hunt.Typically a location or history badge
3. Clean up/combine enhancements

But I also did guild business, like seeing who had been on when for 'activity requirements (Most SG's had them).
Or even just make a new fast character if I knew of some type of event coming that I wanted to test it on.

I said something else. I feel that it depends on what I am currently working on in the game. It also depends on which of my peers are online at the time of my login. Mostly I will probable be checking the Auction House assuming there is one or just killing random stuff...

If I only have 15 - 30 minutes, I will most likely Street Sweep, so for me it would be "Something Else".
:D If it ain't broke, don't fix it! :D

Have my character head to the beach [we do have a beach with waves somewhere on the ship, right?] and switch over to a bathing suit modeled after my supersuit.

Then do some surfing. Do some 2-6 man beach volleyball, either joining a computer run team against another computer team or a pick up game with other PCs or some combination of the two. Work on my tan and actually tan that lasts for a few days in game. Do some body surfing. Do some surf fishing. Get on a jet ski and buzz around. Try my superhero pick up lines and see how many times I get my face slapped or have the beach patrol escort me from the beach for bad behavior. Go hang out at the muscle beach section of the beach and pump iron. Build an elaborate sand castle. Go fight Jaws. Fly a kite, get into Kite Battles with other PCs. and for the button mashers out there, get into an ice cream eating contest where you have to both eat as fast as you can within a certain time frame and also figure out how big of bites you take, while avoiding the dreaded Brain Freeze!!!!!

In my ideal game, story arcs can be picked up and put down as-needed. I can never tell when someone will come to the door, call my number, or the kids/wife need me. I need to be able to log out and come back later if I'm in the middle of a story arc or whatever else. Best-case, I can solo task forces by taking more time and being more creative than just smashing things up.

I would go with "level up" unless I am under levelled for my story. Then I would run some (instances, dungeons, groups) to get my level up.

Alternately I'd work on my costume/armor/weapons/mods.

I'd create a new character, and then do random street sweeping with any remaining time.
