I actually went right down the middle and said I'm indifferent on this one. If a mission is difficult, we've become used to either learning the mechanics or changing the team makeup to make it easier. Where I would like to see difficulty changing is based on the number of people in a team, but that should, in my opinion, be automatic. We don't get difficulty sliders in real life ;)

How important is it to you to be able to adjust the difficulty level of missions you undertake, and to be able to adjust them again if they are either too difficult or too easy?

I went with Extremely important.

I loved the difficulty slider in CoH. I loved the slider and how I could make the mobs two levels higher than Me. Used it all the time when I was playing on Ace.

I also think this is extremely important. This was not a feature in CoH at release. It was added around issue 3-4, and let me tell you, it made a HUGE difference! The game became super fun for all builds, since you could tailor the difficulty to that character. A low level Controller could start on easy, and then once they got pets they could start dialing it up! A Scrapper could dial up as soon as they had SOs, and all ATs could find a level of difficulty that the players would find to be fun.

This was such a game changer, that it would be HUGE to have it in the game ASAP!

I said extremely important.

This is one of the things that made CoH great. It rewarded higher difficulty with more XP and kept the game interesting as we leveled up.

Extremely important, yes. BUT... I do understand if it doesn't make into the game at launch. It had better be there by at least the first few patches.

I voted Sort of... This was because there was no "Important" selection. There is a lot of room between Sort of... and Extremely.... (i.e., no middle ground).

And I say this with COH in mind. Lets say we are limited to level 10 at launch...and we are waiting on more content. The ability to redo a mission like "Frostfire" over and over but at harder difficulty to pass the time would be great!

Good point! Frostfire kicked my but so many times when I was starting.

Yeah, frostfire is a good example. i went with extremely important as well.

This may be presumed, but I guess adjusting the slider would directly correlate to the level of the baddies in the mish by means of changing their level. Are there other conditions the difficulty scale affects? For example, If I remember correctly in CoH - I could solo a mission with easier difficulty, and I would only see minions and lieutenants. Higher difficulty, started seeing a boss or two sprinkled in there. Max difficulty, bosses would be purple etc. But the size of the mobs in the mish would only be dictated by the size of the team?

This time around i'm going to pay more attention to the exp. and the lvl'n ... being a new-bee in COH i was to enthralled in the playing and a lot of the time i lvl'ed when i wasn't even tring and I was surprised when it happened ... I was happy... but bewildered that I still did NOT KNOW how to play well as i wish i could ...
So this time around I'm paying more attention and going slower ... on purpose ... and hope'n that SOH has a slider bar to slow down the exp.
