In our newsletter from yesterday morning we hinted that we might have a special event tonight, Friday night.

Murphy's Law immediately struck us. As soon as we had published this idea, our server, which had been completely stable for four day, suddenly became unstable. We're still not entirely sure what all of the causes were, but we've decided to delay the event planned for tonight until we are sure that our server is completely solid.

Ironically, once we made the decision to delay, the server began acting normally again.

At any rate, go ahead and play in the event. We just pushed a new patch and it seems to be working fine at the moment. We will keep watching it, of course.

We already have 50% more players in game than we had at the peak of our CCT Beta 4 months ago, so the community is obviously having fun. And we are expecting a surge on players tonight, as the weekend begins in the US.

So have fun! I think I might roll a new Devastator myself.

Last night i kept trying to log my char in but was returned to the login page again. Was this part of the issue?
Today I launched and its downloading the whole game again. Is this expected?

Last night the game was down for a while. when the game is down you can't get past the character select screen.

this morning download was the new patch.

Getsome, the answer to your question is "yes."

We had an unexpected problem last night, and we patched this morning. But did we get the problem? sometimes the only way to know is to let people play. I've been on most of the morning, and I even made a new character.

I am literally knocking on wood as I say "no server problem yet."
