Re: Donations to Ship of Heroes
The last five days are now one of the best periods we've ever had in terms of number of donors. Apparently the arrival of the COH private servers has been a huge boon to us at SoH, as the community enjoys the old game and looks forward to a new one!
Thank you all.
Thank you all.

Are we still on track for this? That will be a few weeks before release. You have plenty of time, since the earliest realistic release date is Dec 2019.
Where can we look if all we care about is the release date?

Re: Donations to Ship of Heroes
We're working as quickly as we can, but we don't want to give up on our internal quality measures. So the answer is, we don't know for sure.
However, we have seen that in the last year or so of development, everything seems to take longer than we want it to.
If we are unable to launch at the end of this year, we will program a series of Beta events so that the community can work with us to give feedback and participate in the game, as we bring it to a launch-ready state. That's the plan.
Right now we are working on some improvements to the CCT, and trying to be ready for a Beta of that system ASAP.
Not sugar-coating it -- that's the situation.

I call this crash-and-burn-management.
You think the project will take only 6 months, and when it really takes a year, you might get fired. You crashed and burned.
Management will hire the next guy who says he can do it in 6 months. Of course, it will still take 12 months.
But if the first manager is kept, and survives the crash, he can then say it will take 12 months, and then deliver on time. Senior management is rarely that patient, however.

I think our small community appreciates your honesty. As long as you keep us informed about the progress, no matter how small or insignificant it might be, we will be happy. We're working as quickly as we can, but we don't want to give up on our internal quality measures. So the answer is, we don't know for sure.

And beta in december 2019 sounds not too bad to me.

Re: Donations to Ship of Heroes
This is probably going to sound a bit premature, but yesterday in our marketing meeting the idea was floated that perhaps we'll have some sort of a Halloween event. We're definitely not promising this, but it is a good idea in many ways.
So we're looking at it, to see what cost is -- that is, what would we need to postpone in order to enable a test event of that kind?

Not sure if others would agree with me but i would think that anything that could or will postpone the release of the game that is not integral to the game is not preferred.
Holiday events are something that can be added after the fact. Take a page from WoW. Holiday events were not in the game at launch and they added them along the way.

I agree. The release should have priority 1.Not sure if others would agree with me but i would think that anything that could or will postpone the release of the game that is not integral to the game is not preferred.

On the other hand it would be nice to join the game and play with the devs and the community members. Even if it`s just for one event.

Re: Donations to Ship of Heroes
Thank you. As far as we can tell, we got everyone in th Beta who had issues yesterday. We're expecting another big day today. And more than 60 joined up for the Beta at the last moment and we got them downloads and keys as well.
At just before 5 am, east coast US time, we had over 25 in the city, running around and having a good time.
Of course, we reset the servers at that moment, so they were out for a few minutes, but it is still going well. And we are learning a lot of stuff.
Keep putting your ideas into the forums, and reacting to the ideas of others there. That is how we can all have a hand in what needs to be done in the next phase of devleopment.
Whether you are in the Beta or not, we want to hear from you!

Re: Donations to Ship of Heroes
Hello super heroes!
Here are my thoughts on this. I just came out of the beta test. And yes it's a little rough graphic wise, this is to be expected. Character creation need's to be tweaked as well, this is Beta I get it. I have donated to this game as well. With that being said I don't mind waiting tell this get's picture perfect, I would rather have to wait then rush this game. Dev's you guys/gals are doing a wonderful job keep it up!
Frame rate when I first went in Nov 1st was popping at 160ish fps. zero lag. Today was set at 30 fps with zero lag.
Thanks dev's for doing what you do!
