Best of all, they confirmed that the character creator can be packaged up and made available prior to launch to provide plenty of time for customizing. So we'll be able to take our time before the launch, saving templates to our accounts, and then speed through the process of creating a character and getting into the game as quickly as possible once it goes live.

Yeah, me too. I only briefly mentioned it, but one of the things that really struck me when they were showing off the current character creator, is that the base face shapes really did look noticeably different. In most games you can barely tell one from the next. And then on top of that the sliders.. I was really happy when they said the character creator could be packaged up separately before launch, because just watching it, I know I'm going to spend forever in there.

Nice little article here.
Especially the bit about the clipping. That's always been an epic fail in my book, particularly when people are touting how "great" a game looks and all the eye candy... I am not a programmer and have no clue what it takes to get all that stuff done, I have however been playing these things since day -1 and have seen some pretty awesome stuff. Clipping is one of those things that are like...well remember when FF7 came out and Cloud had boxes for hands?! lol

Consultant said "No promises for at launch but we can look at it."

So I'd guess, not at launch, but they'll review feasibility after the core game is up and strong.
