I Can't download game client; bad link

I got the email invite and already registered my key. When I click the link for the client Download;

"3. Download and install the SoH Community Event Client."

it sends me this address:

https://cct-beta.ewr1.vultrobjects.com/SOHInstaller.exe

and this is what I see:

Any new download that has not been submitted to MS for a certificate will get the same error. Only override that if you trust it, which of course I did. Since this was a last minute thing, I am sure the HGC did not submit it to MS, since their approval turnaround is abysmal.

Just a heads up, MS confirmed that a recent patch has caused your computer to display that there is no connection, even when you do, especially if you use a proxy or VPN. (Source) Because of this, errors like the one you mentioned, as well as many other common functions that rely on WinHTTP or WinInet functions, will pop up when there isn't a reason to. Not saying this is specifically what is happening to you, but it reminded me of the article I read yesterday and figured I'd throw it out there in case anyone isn't aware and is having this and/or similar issues.

There is no security bypass option (and yes, I right clicked on everything) , only "refresh" or "go back to last page" depending on what browser I use. I have tried it on Chrome, Brave, Edge and Internet Explorer. I shouldn't HAVE to use a VPN to get into Beta.

I even tried " https://cct-beta.ewr1.vultrobjects.com/ " without the " SOHInstaller.exe " It's the website that's having issues, not the launcher. The link should have worked right out of the email. Is there a different link in the forums some where to the launcher Download?

Hmmm, we're looking at it.

But we've had almost 1,200 people download the game with the same process you are using and we had very few issues --almost all of them related to people doing what they "knew" they should do, and not what the instructions actually said.

I wonder if MS has changed something in the last day or two?

the link is working now, thank you for what ever the tech team did!


Update:

the installer.exe installed the launcher, but the launcher says "Error Downloading Patch" and thats all the further it will go.

Any thoughts?

ok, yet another UPDATE:

I restarted my comp to see if that would help, it didn't. I tried uninstalling the game and redownloading the launcher but for what ever reason, I was back to square 1 and the link wasn't working any more. I tried 3 different browsers as well as white listing the site for my ad/popupblockers, no difference. I still had the "SOHInstaller.exe" so I tried that and still got this:

At this point, the event is over, it's no longer intended to be downloadable/patchable as far as I understand.
