Apotheosis City

Postby A1fighter » Wed May 24, 2017 11:24 pm

What is the story behind the name, sorry if I missed it. I am aware of the definition, but not its' relationship to the game.

Apotheosis City was the first level completed during construction back on Earth. The designers were trying to make the best possible small city within the parameters of the ship size and design, so they called it Apotheosis City. The explains why several of the key landmarks are familiar versions of similar landmarks on Earth.

Oh, I asked because of this
http://www.dictionary.com/browse/apotheosis
I was wondering if there are any correlation between the definition and the lore. So it just has to do with elevation? being above earth, literally?

TY for the link to a definition A1... and yes it fits the ship sense all the Super heroes would have left when Paragon got destroyed ( thank to NC Soft ) so any one left on earth and or Paragon they would look and dream of the supers leaving to live in the stars ... "yeah that's us "

I had to ask because the first definition is this

the elevation or exaltation of a person to the rank of a god.

So is it the named apotheosis due to the elevation or the latter?

Old bump btw :o

I don't think this would be s spoiler of any sort, just curious to the actual meaning behind the name.

Elevation or divinity?

It's more of the "the perfect form of something." In this case the perfect form of a super-advanced small city.

Although the ancient Greeks would certainly have seen superheroes (almost by definition) as gods, since they had a lot of them.

As the Justice was being built, Apotheosis City was the first level built, and best city they could design -- a labor of love for them. The perfect form of a city being built to travel in the ship, from world to world.

Of course, the other levels will have alternative claims to importance.

Thanks Consultant. I like the perfect form of the city much better. I was never a fan of Greek mythology tbh. Seems like many mmo deal with Greek mythology or divinity, nice to see SoH being original. This mythology gimmick is worn out in the moo universe.

SoH takes a lot of flank for being original, instead of the reused lore that deals with mythology. The lore is actually what brought me to SoH; it is different. Keep up the great work.
