Yup. That's the one.

A minor snag prevented posting by normal users in that category and Ace adjusted my post/thread mentioning that into the new, actual, FAQ Reply thread. So... this is where things go for now but that could change in the event things get sorted out in the future.

You have a Luck and Spear powerset, but no Super Strength or Regeneration? That doesn't seem right, what am I missing?

Love the FAQ! Brilliant! One question I have that I may have missed was whats the confirmed amount of powers we can select for a hero as of right now I guess. I know in the SOH videos 4 can be selected from primary and 2 from secondary. But not sure if that was just for those earlier stages of development.

To Alltrueist; There will be a Super Strength set at release. I am uncertain when the set will be intro'd, but Consultant assured me that SS will be in the game at release..

To LaughingLandry; The rate of power acquisition and slot acquisition is still to be determined. The current plan is that we get two primary and two secondary powers to start, then get a power every other level, likely starting at level 3, and slots every other level, likely three slots each time, which makes sense since the plan is to have 8 slots available to each power if you so choose, as well as global slots (probably one every 20 levels). But this is the starting plan. Things will very likely change once they are tested. There are lists of powers in each set, but once again, testing will likely cause several changes in the sets.

GladDog will leveling also increase backpack/bag/storage slots availability up to to-be-determined set max number of slots?

That is TBD, it is a good suggestion though...

I mentioned SS earlier, but missed the question about Regeneration.

The game is releasing with Determination, which is a very regen-centric set similar to the CoH set Willpower. But the game is not planned to have a true regeneration set at release, if at all. Regeneration was a huge problem for the CoH dev team, and it was never fixed properly. Willpower ended up being a better set after the GDN made Instant Healing a click instead of a toggle.

Looks good! Thanks for addressing my concern. It just seemed weird to have very obscure sets without covering the basics. It'd be like having a tunneling travel power, but no flight

Everyone should rememeber that we cannont simply re-create powersets from COH -- we don't own that IP. NC Soft owns it. So if we have something called regeneration, it will not have the same powers.

We've not shown too many melee powers yet, but we are working on them. Several new ones will be revealed in the next few months.

Tanker primary powers (which are not offensive powers, for those who did not play COH) will also start being revealed in the next few months. :)

I'll add something as well - this game won't be CoH2. It will be better! Regen was a 'basic' set for CoH, but it is not needed in SoH to make it a great game.

There are lots of legalities involved. If you don't see a favorite powerset or sub-game in SoH, it may very well be that the team is avoiding it because of legal concerns.

Also, I would not use Champions Online as an example of what a team can 'get away with'. Cryptic made CoH and Champions. They were using rules from an existing P&P game. Also, I am sure they negotiated to reuse some things from CoH when they sold it to NCsoft.
