Beta end of year: What to expect?

Postby Pyrion » Tue Nov 13, 2018 5:23 am

On facebook you still say that beta will be around at the end of the year, I suppose you mean 2018, since you want to launch in 2019.

The videos that you show are quite impressive. But are you really almost ready to start a beta server? I am a bit sceptical but obviously hopeful. "End of year" is pretty soon already.

So under the assumption that beta will indeed start at the end of the year, what can we expect?

1) Working CCT to create our character? That one i am pretty optimistic about actually.
2) How many powersets? How many working archetypes at the start?
3) Just street sweeping at the start or already some indoor missions?
4) "Infusion" system already working?
5) Enhancements?

I am very much looking forward for beta... i do hope you can pull it off. But if you need more time, no problem really... just tell us.

The plans are to still have the supporters beta before the end of the year. They are very much anticipating that! but there are some annoying bugs to squash before they can get past the last couple hurdles - starting with the login test.

Exactly. we are behind schedule a bit, and planning to present a clear picture before year-end and also to show a schedule for next year. But we have a lot of cool stuff in progress, and we need to bring the dishes to completion on at a time.

We will do something good at the end of the year, though.

Thank you both for the replies although most of my questions remain unanswered, I guess the aswers to those are just not 100% known and you want to be carefull with your communications, so it's kinda OK. It would be nice if you could tell us more when you are able to.

I think I saw somewhere that we're looking at July 2019 for launch? Would that be correct?

No. While we would all love to July 4th Launch that’s just not in the cards.

The end of 2019 is the most likely release date, just in time for Christmas!

Crushed I am. But elated, because SoH will be playable shortly. As the forum time goes at least. :o :D

a great christmas present would be the chance to play with the character creator a bit already (nothing to safe - just for fun :) )

Even though it got delayed, the supporters beta will be starting soon, very likely before the end of February. They decided to wait until after they upgrade the Unreal engine to 4.20 and fixed any problems this creates before the beta starts. I was hoping to playing over the holidays, but the game will be better for the upgrade, so I am willing to wait.

This change means they can start working with the free assets from Epic's failed game Paragon. This is a huge boon, as this is far more than just costumes. This includes animations, sound effects, backgrounds, etc.
