Re: Vehicles and Civilians

So yeah, the day/night cycle is also making a massive difference to the realistic feel. That's much more obvious in the full video - shifts in the spectrum of the light, shadow length, etc. are all combining with the moving elements to create a living breathing world. I love how it can be the smalle...

Vehicles and Civilians

https://www.shipofheroes.com/civilians-and-cars/ Man that GIF looks so good :D It makes an incredible difference to how the city feels, even in the static shots, and seeing the vehicles moving really is just icing. I think a lot of people that were complaining about how "bad" the graphics were will ...

Re: Would you prefer as a private place...

I said both, because it's the closest to what I want - I want a shared space for me to hang out with my friends, and I want a space I can personalise and have full-control over. I don't care how that's done - whether we can get zoned areas in the shared SG base (this square is for Ebon Angel, this s...

Re: If you were going to make a game what would it be?

Oh, boy. Let me find my old notebook... So, games I have started making or planning and never finished: Customisable squad-based tactical game. Think x-com with completely free-form tech, advanced command-queue system and ability to have multiple simultaneous combats going on across the map that you...

Sorry, "didn't click" means in this context, "didn't really enjoy it" not "the link wouldn't work" :P

Re: Control Powers

according to your definition you surely can channel all the possible variations in those words. I don´t mind since you specified it that way :) It was kind of the point too :D I'm not pulling some linguistic trick here - the whole reason for that categorisation was to be able to channel all possibl...

Re: Control Powers

Now you have me thinking about Otto's Irresistible Dance from D&D, and I want a controller who can make people just stand there and dance/emote instead of fighting :P ObCoT reference: https://youtu.be/AMa96DNnRA8?t=40s I do think the Titans' team has done an amazing job on the customisation aspect ...

Re: An abundance of riches!

Didn't click with "How not to summon a Demon Lord" for some reason, but definitely enjoying Arifureta. Recently started watching the anime for Overlord, after a friend recommended the manga, and really liked that. Very similar to HNTSADL, which may be why I didn't click with it as much.

Re: Control Powers

Was there really never any kind of manipulation (like making some NPC do something he wouldn´t have done otherwise)? What can you make him do? Move somewhere else? That's movement limiting. Control what powers he uses (or doesn't?) Power limiting. Change who he attacks? Target limiting. Those are t...

Re: An abundance of riches!

Reading Arifureta now - I love the increasing sub-genre of "fantasy worlds that work like an RPG" :) It's always fun. Thanks for the recommendation :D

Re: So, you wanna get a video card?

Good to know - my current machine is about 8 or 9 years old at this point, and while I've upgraded my gfx card a couple of times via hand-me-downs from friends it's not without issues.

Still plays Destiny 2 no problems, so I may just stick with it yet :)

Re: The fireworks effect

One of the things that I've never seen a equal of in any other game, let alone MMO, is the sheer overload of an eight-player team taking on several stacked mobs of full-size enemy groups. It was glorious. It was epic. It was exciting and awesome and wonderful in a way that combat in any other game h...

Re: Just what I was worried/talking about.

SEGS is only responsible for the non-violating server software that has the ability to communicate with COH clients. They're never going to make missions or mission arcs or TFs or anything of the sort. SEGS is a critical piece for the other parts to happen, but they're avoiding IP-related subject m...

Re: What is your character's backstory?

I have an incomplete draft from ages ago. It doesn't flow that smoothly tbh, but I think it represents my character well enough. A very characterful piece :) I do see what you mean on the flow, but to a degree that also suits the character, so I don't see it as a huge issue. Just to be pedantic, we...
