Re: The Sonavyakti and the Human/Nagdelian Conflict

Part I : Sonavyakti and their Cora Tree Starting point Kepler 62e is the Nagdelian home world. Kepler 62f is the Sonavyakti home world. Kepler 62e (fictional version) is a jungle planet while Kepler 62f (fictional version) is a temperate planet. "Sonavyakti" is taken from Hindi. "Sona" = gold, "vyak...

The Sonavyakti and the Human/Nagdelian Conflict

I was not sure which forum to put this into. I finally settled on this one, since by the strictest definition, it is a "fan creation". As I pointed out in a couple of other threads, I am not at all satisfied with the current revealed Lore. It is too vague, too abstract, and in many places, too clich...

Re: So our heroes are basically space pirates?

But leave level 17 alone! That's the level that the 'Forgotten' are after! :)
How about Level 15? Anybody mind if I move in and take over all of Level 15?

Re: So our heroes are basically space pirates?

Most armies (and sometimes navies) live off of the land to some degree, and always have historically. Sometimes they pay for what they take and more often not. Think about British naval forces stopping American civilian ships and seizing men (and sometimes supplies) that they needed for one of thei...

Re: Nagdelian Conflict Origin

I wasn't sure if someone should respond to this or not - to be honest, Greyhawk, you sound a bit like a troll. But on the off-chance that you're not trying to troll and are actually just expressing an opinion, I thought I'd comment back. Not a troll. This is my honest opinion. As they are now, the ...

Re: Attacks and nuances; debuffs and minor cc-effects in attacks.

We agree with this post. Just having the same damage on every power and changing the FX and animations does not cut it. Each powerset should deliver something a little different. This does allow each powerset to have real differences. It makes the idea of archetypes a bit less certain...high damage...

Re: Character Creator question

Of course HGC wants a world class character creator in this game. They are devoting substantial resources to this facet of the game. The real question is what are we willing to accept at release that will be filled out in future updates? As far as Enhancements, they want a system like CoH, but they...

Re: Viable CoH successors question

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to offer my own assessment. A caveat, this is entirely MY opinion and it is based as much on gut instinct as it is on available fact, maybe more. 1. Ship of Heroes Flashy. Supremely confident. Boasts of a full package test on a weekly basis. 3 sq. mi. in today's world is a...

Nagdelian Conflict Origin

In my quest to learn more about SoH and the backstory, I came across a post at MMORGG.com describing the conflict with the Nagdelian. I gotta say, I am not impressed. Just another faceless, mindless, hive mentality? They might as well be zombies. I think I can come up with a much more convincing sto...

So our heroes are basically space pirates?

I was reading the background material when I noticed this paragraph: Critical resources are perennially in short supply. Raiding from ship to ship for resources was part of the status quo in space long before humans entered space. To deter attacks, we raid hostile alien ships in retaliation, when we...

Re: Who Were You in City of Heroes?

My Main Character was Dusty Enalios, a Robotics/Traps Mastermind. Beyond her...too many dozens to count. I played every archetype at least once. I tried every combination dismissed as "worthless" or "underpowered" and several of those made it into the low 40s. I was so busy experimenting that in the...

Re: Character Creator question

I didn't reply to the poll. Honestly, the questions make no sense to me. Just gibberish. If Ship of Heroes is following in the footsteps of City of Heroes, than of course the most important element to have at launch is an innovative character creator! The vast majority of the passion generated in Co...

Re: Time for me to finally arrive and say hello.

Debuffs, holds, slows, recharge extension, energy drains! Ah, good times! You could always tell the true CoH/CoV masters. Their powers were heavily enhanced for secondary effects. Knockback that sent a enemy halfway across the map! Oh, yeah. DoT holds that lasted half the life or more of an enemy. G...

Re: Planets and Commanders...

The whole "heroes in space" thing doesn't particularly excite me. It's a bit different, but with some elbow grease and imagination will turn out just fine so I'm not worried or being judgmental. Curious, mostly. Commanders, now, that's a different story entirely. Because the story is heroes on a shi...

Re: User Generated Content

First thing I searched for, first thread I'm replying to. From my very first forum post pre-Beta, I was asking about user generated content in City of Heroes. Later, I was either the first or second to write up a complete description of how a UI for UGC might look and function. When Architect ...
