Re: What missions or story arcs do you want?

I was thinking about chaining some shorter missions together. How many missions would be appropriate for a chain? I was thinking that around half a dozen maximum, possibly four or five. Any thoughts?

Re: What missions or story arcs do you want?

Here's another one. You can see I haven't done a huge amount of physical work today... Contact standing outside the arch: "Help! The Prometheans have invaded the arch. Do something!" That all the information we get at this stage. On entry, the heroes have to make their way through the place releasin...

Re: What missions or story arcs do you want?

Sounds perfect, thanks. Here's my idea then. It's a bit sketchy because it's basically just a straight fight. Civilian contact close to the bridge: "A hero! I'm glad you're here. We need help." "There's a bunch of dangerous looking thugs. They won't let anyone cross the bridge. My crew are stuck ove...

Re: What missions or story arcs do you want?

Here's a question! I've been thinking about a mission where multiple different groups of enemies have a common objective and our heroes find themselves in the middle. So the question is, will different enemy types attack each other if they get close enough?

Re: What missions or story arcs do you want?

Here's something I put together. I'll see what else I can come up with. Contact: An unknown shadowy figure. "Psst. Hey, you. Yes you! You're one of those hero types, aren't you?" "I overheard a conversation that you might be interested in. There's an ancient artifact changing hands. Maybe it's somet...

Re: Mission Creation Newsletter

Yep. That happened in Champions Online as well. One of the most sought after items was referred to as a butt cape, it was a little cape that attached to your belt and covered your backside. It looked great when worn with a short cape of the same design. Anyway, it had an almost non-existent drop rat...

Mission Creation Newsletter

From my point of view the Mission Creation Newsletter was the most interesting newsletter so far. I spend quite a lot of time writing short stories and have dabbled in development of visual novels with limited success (mainly because of function creep they become a never ending process) so it's real...

Re: What Are We Working On? 11/06/2020

Would be great to see how the missions are progressing and what sort of things we can expect to see in the game ;) To be honest though, I don't mind what we do - just looking forward to getting into the ship again!

Re: Six New Costumes -- November Newsletter

Looking good :)

Said on the newsletter that those were Red Sigil costumes. Does that mean they have to be earned ingame somehow? That'd be something to strive for, as well as the badges!

Re: Badges per Arc

I think lots of badges is a good idea, gives people an incentive without making things so difficult that they just give up. Some should obviously be harder to get than others. Hopefully there'll be lots of exploration badges as well :)

Re: How many hours will you play Ship of Heroes each week?

We are kind of swamped with stuff, so I have not mentioned this, but there are new costumes in the CCT. So really, we should all look around and not assume that what we saw in March and April is what we're launching with. At a guess, maybe eight new costumes? So far. Oh, and some single pieces incl...

Re: How punishing should death be?

Don't know to be honest. I'm not a fan of being punished for defeat. The problem is that when you get defeated it's usually because you're taking on something difficult. If you then get a debuff or health loss as a result, that's effectively made it even less likely that you'll succeed next time aro...

Re: How do you feel about puzzle elements in MMORPGs?

There's one problem with platforming in online games that still plagues them to this day - the unpredictability of the internet. Pings change from one moment to the next and if all it takes is one tiny lag spike to send you plummeting to your demise you have a very annoyed player on your hands!

Re: Unobtainium?

lol that was me. we had a spammer I deleted his post, then saw I had a typo. Beware the phantom deleter... Actually, I was in two minds about the term 'unobtanium' then I decided it really didn't matter what it was called. As long as we have a good game and, even more importantly, a good community,...

Re: Fight the Berserker

That was fun, thanks :) Think you've addressed the main issues that we encountered. I noticed that selecting a characters underwear in the character creator and colouring it worked but if you then wore a skirt over it, in flight your character flashed its underwear which had reverted to the default ...
