I like the green on blue better. It just looks better to me. For the power tray, circles. My answer is based on a mix of nostalgia, aesthetics, and not having that generic MMO feel to it. I think the biggest of those 3 is defiantly nostalgia. Seeing a screen shot with circles in it evoked an emotion...
